As a self-taught artist and Michigan native there has always been an abundance of beauty to stir my creative imagination. The unique things of this state, like the change of seasons, wildlife, and the Great Lakes, daily amaze me; especially as I consider the wondrous artist who created it all. The beauty of a Maple leaf, a robin’s egg or the sunset over a lake, is the greatest art I have ever seen.
Drawing came naturally to me at a young age and as a teenager my bedroom walls were covered with pencil drawings, literally on the walls. I had understanding parents! Over the years I have worked to improve my skills in different mediums. Painting opened the door to creatively using different things as a canvas, from floorcloths, to gourds and rocks, to larger murals.
As a free-lance artist I enjoy the opportunity to do different things. By simply using the gifts God has given me, I want to encourage others through my art, bring hope to this world and a reminder of the blessings surrounding each of us every day.
